Águilas Castle (Castillo San Juan de las Águilas)

Águilas Castle (Castillo de San Juan de las Águilas) occupies a prominent hilltop position overlooking the town and port, making it one of the best viewpoints in the area. Built in the 18th century to defend the coastline, the castle is now open to visitors and includes a small museum and several viewing terraces with far-reaching coastal views. Access involves a fairly steep climb, although an elevator helps visitors reach the upper level; once inside, some steps are still required to explore the site fully.
