Lorca

Lorca is one of the region’s strongest historic cities, but summer sightseeing can be hard work. Cooler months are much better for the castle and old town.

• Spring (Apr-Jun): 18-27°C, good for the castle, old town and museums.
• Summer (Jul-Sep): 29-38°C, hot inland; plan early starts, indoor stops and shaded breaks.
• Autumn (Oct-Nov): 19-28°C, very good for a full historic day.
• Winter (Dec-Feb): 10-18°C, cooler but often comfortable for monuments and walking.

Lorca’s old centre rewards walking, but the castle sits above town and needs extra time or transport depending on your plan.

• Walking: Free and best for the old centre once parked.
• Bus: Allow around €1.20-€2 for local journeys where routes are convenient.
• Taxi: Around €7-15 within the city; useful for the castle if you do not want the uphill approach.
• Car rental: Around €25-45 per day; useful for Lorca plus surrounding villages or coast.
