Panoramic Lift of Cartagena

Cartagena’s Panoramic Lift climbs 45 metres from Calle Gisbert to the top of Concepción Hill, making it the easiest route to Parque Torres and Concepción Castle. The glass cabin and elevated walkway provide changing views across the city, including the Roman amphitheatre area, historic military buildings, the harbour and the hills beyond.

The base of the lift also serves as the entrance area for the Civil War Air Raid Shelter Museum. Buy lift or combined castle tickets at the ticket office here; staff can also help with tickets across the Cartagena Puerto de Culturas network. At the top, you can continue through the free paths and viewpoints of Parque Torres even if you do not enter the castle.

The lift is useful transport, but the short ride and walkway are also an attraction in their own right. Travellers with limited mobility should check the current accessibility information for the castle as well as the lift before planning the complete route.

There is one lift travelling up and down the tower, and it has limited capacity. Pre-booked groups may be given priority, particularly in the morning, so at busier times it is worth allowing for a short wait while the lift completes its return journey. Once on the upper walkway, pause before heading into the park: it provides one of the clearest elevated views of the archaeological work around the Roman amphitheatre below.
