Playa de Las Salinas
Playa de Las Salinas occupies a broad, comparatively quiet stretch of Mar Menor shoreline at the northern edge of Los Alcázares. The beach runs for about one kilometre beside the protected La Hita landscape, giving it a more open and natural feel than the busier town-centre beaches.
The calm setting works well for an unhurried shoreline walk, while the surrounding wetlands make this part of the coast useful for birdwatching. Los Alcázares tourism also highlights the area for activities including sailing, windsurfing, windfoil, kitesurfing and open-water swimming, although conditions, providers and access arrangements should always be checked locally.
A clearly marked section of the beach is the municipality’s designated dog area. Keep dogs within the signed zone, observe the rules displayed on site and help protect the neighbouring natural environment.
Despite its beach appearance, the municipal tourism office states that Playa de Las Salinas is not listed in the official bathing-water census because of the seabed and environmental-protection conditions. Check current signs before entering the water.
The municipality has been carrying out improvements around Playa de Las Salinas, so access and parking arrangements may change. Treat it as a flexible outdoor stop and follow temporary signs when you arrive.
