Puerto de Mazarrón Marina (Old)
The old marina (Puerto Deportivo) in Puerto de Mazarrón is a smaller, traditional harbour located a short distance from the main town centre and separate from the newer, modern marina. It has long served local fishermen and small boat owners, and while it’s quieter now, it still reflects the town’s roots as a working fishing port.
Historically, the area played an important role in the development of Puerto de Mazarrón. Long before the rise of tourism, fishing was a key part of the local economy, and this marina was one of the active points for docking and unloading.
It’s not a major tourist spot, but it’s still used by locals and visitors who appreciate a slower pace. The surrounding area has a few residential buildings and some local bars and restaurants, and it’s generally much quieter than the waterfront promenade and modern marina. It is also home to the Mazarrón Regatta Club (Club de Regatas Mazarrón).
